Since the first announcement of the movie's title which was "Giratina to Sora no Hanataba", There were rumors that the movie's title will be "Giratina to Sora no Hanataba Sheimi" as Shaymin was expected to be in the movie (even though there were no words about Shaymin in the beginning)

The first Pokemon Diamond Pearl movie was first announced as "Dialga VS Palkia" without any mention of Darkrai, however it was then changed into "Dialga VS Palkia VS Darkrai" before few months of the screening in Japan.
